Wedding evening invitations
For the friends who’ll join you after the wedding breakfast, for the first dance, the evening food and the party. Each evening invitation here matches a day invitation from one of our wedding suites, so the colleagues and neighbours coming for the dancing get a card that’s every bit part of the set.
Change the arrival time, the venue and how to reply, then download a PDF for a print shop, an A4 sheet to print at home, or an image to send to people you won’t see before the day.
Your first design is free with an account. After that it’s 99p a design, or £5 a month for every design. A ready-made Canva invitation template on Etsy is usually £6 to £10. See how we compare

What to put on an evening invitation
- Make it clear it’s the evening, “Please join our evening reception” or “Join us for drinks and dancing”, so nobody arrives in time for the vows.
- An arrival time, usually 7 or 7.30pm, and when carriages are, if you know.
- The food: an evening buffet, a pizza van or a hog roast, so guests know whether to eat first.
- Who to reply to and by when, and the dress code if the day guests have one.
- The venue’s full address and where to park, as evening guests often drive.

Pick a designQuestions about evening invitations
- Who gets an evening invitation?
- Guests invited to the party but not the ceremony and meal: often colleagues, neighbours, friends from clubs and teams, and partners of friends. It’s a way to celebrate with more people when the venue or the budget limits the day.
- When should you send evening invitations?
- At the same time as the day invitations, usually two to three months before, so evening guests don’t feel like an afterthought and can sort out babysitters and lifts.
- What time do evening guests usually arrive?
- Most UK weddings ask evening guests for about 7 or 7.30pm, after the speeches and the meal, in time for the cake and the first dance. Check with your venue when the room will be turned round.
