RSVP cards

A reply card that matches the invitation makes the whole envelope feel finished. Most here are 5 × 7 inch cards from our wedding suites, with guest names, accept and decline, numbers and dietary requirements already laid out, plus a slim ivory card, an antique lace postcard and a reply card for a communion lunch.

Or let guests reply online: send your invitation as a link, and they answer yes, no or maybe with how many are coming and a message. Every reply lands in your account, ready to download as a spreadsheet for the caterer.

Your first design is free with an account. After that it’s 99p a design, or £5 a month for every design. A ready-made Canva invitation template on Etsy is usually £6 to £10. See how we compare

What to put on an RSVP card

  • A reply-by date four to six weeks before the wedding, so you can give the venue final numbers in time.
  • A line for each guest’s name, and “joyfully accepts” or “regretfully declines”.
  • Dietary requirements, or a menu choice if your caterer asks for one in advance.
  • Where to send it: your address on the back, or an email or number for guests who won’t post it.
  • A song request, if you’d like everyone on the dance floor.

Questions about RSVP cards

When should RSVPs be due?
Four to six weeks before the wedding. Venues and caterers often want final numbers two to three weeks ahead, and you’ll need time to chase the last few and finish the seating plan.
Can guests RSVP online instead of posting a card?
Yes. Share your invitation as a link from the editor: guests see the details, add the date to their calendar and reply, and you get an email with each answer. Replies download as a spreadsheet.
Do RSVP cards go in the same envelope as the invitation?
Usually, yes. The 5 × 7 inch reply cards fit the same envelope as a 5 × 7 invitation; add a stamped envelope addressed to you if you’d like them back by post.
