Star and stable – nativity play poster
A nativity play poster in the style of a hand-carved linocut print. A gold star of Bethlehem shines at the top, and along the foot two shepherds with a lantern and their sheep, and the three kings carrying their gifts, walk an indigo hill to the stable, where Mary and Joseph watch over the manger. “The Nativity” is lettered in a brick-red script and a bold indigo serif, and the performances are set out like a theatre playbill: three dates side by side under “December”, then the venue, free entry and retiring collection, and mince pies afterwards.
