Market stall – Christmas fair poster
A Christmas fair poster that turns the page into the front of a wooden market stall: a snowy shingle roof, a fir garland strung with glowing festoon lights, teal posts hung with a wreath and a brass lantern, and mince pies, a Christmas cake and mugs of mulled wine on the counter, all hand-painted in gouache. “Christmas Fair” is lettered like a signwritten stall board, in a warm cranberry serif and a flowing teal script, and the date, time and venue, six attractions from Santa’s grotto to the tombola, and what the fair is raising money for are set out clearly in the stall’s open hatch, with the entry price on a round sign hung from a nail above the counter.
